Hi!

For some time I have a problem running the inverter. The inverter is composed of a half bridge TL494 and multiplier generator connected to the high voltage transformer. Generated by changing the weight of the square I want to get the output voltage at the output of the multiplier. The main objective of the project is to regulate 25-70KV, with a maximum current of 30mA @ 30kV and 10mA @ 60kV. Half bridge is to be powered directly from the home network (230VAC). In the half-bridge transistors IRFP460 transistors are controlled by the GDT after the addition of the resistor which moves nicely square wave of variable width fill.

In parallel to the transistors between the source and the drain also used resistor with capacitor (series, 33nF and 8.2KOhm). With the transistors in a half bridge Schottky diodes, and ultra-fast recovery diodes.

In the diagram, some resistors and capacitors have a different value than in reality.

At the output of half-bridge is connected to a transformer. The primary winding is 30 turns. I connected to the secondary winding of the electrodes which light the arc.

The problem is that the damage is still half bridge transistors. I do not like half bridge output waveform. I experimented with adding inductance in series with the transformer, with additional parallel RC elements connected to the transistors, and nothing else. Also I changed the operating frequency is 25KHz currently. So really when you add RC parallel to each transistor output waveform has improved a little but further output waveform is too ugly. I noticed that after a short circuit waveform output electrodes already looks better but there is no dead time on it ..

Half-bridge output without additional RC:

Half-bridge output with additional RC:

Half bridge with short circuit secondary winding

upper course measured between the of G-S, lower course measured out half bridge:

Additional RC;

voltage multiplier which I intend to connect:

How can I solve the problem of damaging the transistors?
Plans to put transistors on the 1200V, but it is not the solution ugly output waveforms. What else can I do?

Can you check how these diodes are installed?

The fact that the diode on the circuit are poorly reproduced. In fact, they are correctly installed , as you suggest.
