Hello, i am writing program for SPI flash configuration for my ADSP Shark processor,
Idea that VisualDSP++ will generate .LDR file, and my program via USB send it to SPI FLASH with some help from STM32F103.

Since i going to use FT232 chip, i need to know how can i make auto-connect function, since now i am using COMX (X can be any number)
Right now i have select in program right COM port to open it:

 if ((comport = fopen("COM6", "wt")) == NULL)

Does any one know how to make it that it will work with any USB ? ( since changing usb port change COM port number)

My best guess would be to use the FTDI SDK (even in com-port less mode)

I know they have lots of features, and I assume device search is one of them.

Try to give the chip a serial number, that may keep the com-port fixed.

b.t.w. what are you coding the pc-program in?
