Hey everyone

I've had Firefox for years, and suddenly it has stopped downloading almost everything. It still downloads small executables (some installers) and it display pages 100% fine, but it no longer downloads pictures or other files. Has anyone else experienced this? Apparently this happened to one of my friends and he was unable to fix it. I tried reinstaling to no avail.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Liam

I had significant lag, then I disabled the download manager in the options and the lag was gone. For a while... it gradually seems to get slower and slower. At the moment Internet Explorer is a speed demon in comparison.

How many files in you "Downloads" folder? The download manager enumerates files in that folder berfore downloading so any lag may be due to a full folder.

It was the download history, after 10 files it started to go slow. I found an option to clear it after every download.

FWIW there are some tweaks you can do in firefox, not sure if it will help your problem but if anyone wants to check em out here is one good site: http://www.tweakguides.com/Firefox_1.html I have been running it for just a couple years (without reformatting or reinstalling) and its working great for me wink
