Add attatchments using the 'Edit' Function?

I've noticed there is no way to add attachments using 'edit'.
Unfortunately I am sometimes forced to double post.
I have observed other people with the same problem; Is there any workaround?

Make a Post in the attachments board
then copy the URL on to your post =D

I kinda agree though, will be nice to do a direct upload when you edit, and not just the first time you write your post.
