Mini Rail components

Just got on 4hv, and have some trouble getting materials here in Belgium,
As for the normal parts, like the Aluminium rods, no problem, the Lucite covers, that's another problem, don't seem to get hold of this material or 'brandname' over here.
Does anybody have a substitute for 'Lucite' ?
Dupont has an plant here in Belgium, but it seems buying small quantities is out of the question.
Any input is welcome

Lucite a brand name of cast Acrylic (a clear plastic), but you can use any non conducting strong material for your structure, fiberglass would be best. many people use pelxiglass as it is cheap, and they have it laying around.
so use what you can get a hold of.

I wasn't sure about the 'special' properties of Lucite, have lots of normal plexi in the garage, and all sorts of thicknesses. Just got to buy me some more Chloroform :) to weld the stuff.
btw, have enjoyed your site yesterday and today, over and over ... Great work.
I will post some pics here, of the work in progress soon.

Got my hands on and old Polaroid Supercolor 670AF, and took it apart yesterday. The flash unit is very well build compared to the normal disposable types of these days.
The cap is 440µf/350V, and extremely fast loading at 6v, less then a second.
I've included a picture here of the module. Most of the electronics for charging and discharging i figured out yesterday, but still i'm looking for the original schematic of the module. I found one on the www, but for an older type of Polaroid.
Anyway it's not a must, but would be nice to have.
Next step is getting the rails drilled and setup with the plexi.
PS : used the big lens of the polaroid to make the pictures below
my cam did not have a macro setting ...
