Properties of the coils for a reluctunce launcher

Brief investigation considering the features of windings for the coilguns finished. As results of the survey:

- a simple equation derived for the accelerating force between a ferromagnet and a coil;

- spatial distributions investigated for the magnetic field generated in a winding;

- the shapes of a coil and a projectile established optimal for acceleraton;

- some additional questions considered (i.e. eddy currents, material of the accelerated body etc)

Barry, I am very appreciated for Your encouragement. In fact it was you together with my Russain colleague E.Vasiliev who inspired me to be interested in coilguns. So, I'll do my best to develop this topic.
