Small powerfull IGBT's

wikus, Sat Apr 01 2017, 02:49PM

Hi all,has anybody tried these IXXK110N65B4H1 for drsstc .They look amazing. I want to get some but don't know if I can run them at about 60Khz, the data sheet says 10 -30 KHz. Sure they will easily get to 60khz

Thanks any comments please.

They'll do 60kHz easily. The 10-30kHz figure is probably based on continuous hard switching, whereas a DRSSTC low duty cycle/soft switched.

Thanks Scotchtapelord I will try them and send feedback

Do the math and you can easily find out how hard you can drive any IGBT, where you have sufficient data to calculate it. My IGBT guide for DRSSTC Link2

IXYS makes very nice IGBTs esp their IXXX series, but they're typically quite expensive :) These look great for a small to medium sized coil.

Hi guys just giving some feedback on the IXXK110N65 IGBT'S. I tried them in small DRSSTC running at 270Khz, half bridge at about 200-300 Amps. I ran it for 20 min non stop through all BPM. and on times and they didn't even warm up at all. The coil was producing 52 cm. sparks at 175 V input. In conclusion I think they are great and will now try them on a larger coil (124 KHz ) that I am still working on.

Thanks again for great site.

I also found these if you are still looking for a little more power.
