Half bridge sstc based on a slayer?

I had an idea I would like to try I have some IR2104 drivers coming in the mail as well as 1.5LBS of 29GA enamel wire for a new secondary. Now on the 2104 it uses one input to drive the half bridge so if I use the Ground of the secondary to drive a transistor or small MOSFET and use that to drive the input on the IR2104 do you think it could work?
