WiFi hacks

Hi all.
So someone challenged me to hack the WiFi detector that came with the "HV goodie box".

So far I've modified it to add audible feedback and changed the LEDs so they are a coloured bar rather than a row of dim red blobs, but also hoping to increase the number of LEDs from 4 to 8 simply by adding ex-NOR gates between the diodes.

I also have determined that building my own is not that hard, the essential parts are all available from dead Sky LNBs and it uses a GaAs MMIC as the preamplifier.
Adding a direction finder to my car is also easy as a simple wireless mouse transponder (230 foot range!) is trivial to modify so it runs off the coded light blinks from my alarm with a pair of salvaged antennas from dead Bluetooth headsets as the ranging elements.
