iPad Control for DRSSTC

TeslaJunky, Mon Jul 25 2016, 10:25PM

Hello!

Are there any DRSSTC's out there that use an iPad (and an existing MIDI app) for wireless (bluetooth?) control? Are there any existing plans that anyone has seen readily available for this?

Thanks!
Amir

I don't know about an iPad but there are bluetooth interrupters available, however they are obviously susceptible to EMI.

Simple Interrupter is what I have.

Hi Justin,

Thank you for sharing! Do you have any issues using that interrupter? I may reach out to them to see if there is one available for iPhone/Apple products, or if there is something they recommend to modify for Apple use.

Thanks!
Amir

Hey! I'm the developer of SI and you can ask me any questions right here.

As for iOS support, unfortunately, it is not available yet. But SI packs so many cool features that you may even consider buying cheap android phone.

I recommend LG P500 as a cheap option or any xiaomi device (redmi2, for instance) as more expensive - they work well near powerful coils.

Beware of sony or cheap samsung devices - they pick up coil noise. This shows as random taps when coil is operating.

Hi!

Thanks very much. I just purchased Simple Interrupter last night and look forward to using it.

When do you anticipate having iOS compatibility? Is it a matter of writing an app for IOS? Or is it with the hardware compatibility?

Thanks!!

Hi!
iOS support is not anticipated anytime soon. The reason is that software is rather complex and I don't have skills and, actually, apple's devices to port it.

If sales would be good - I would hire someone with iOS skills to port software and buy iOS device, but as for now, I decided that it's better to focus on new features.

It's only an software issue. SI uses bluetooth 2.1, and any device that supports this standard potentially can use SI.
