Looking for some individuals to BETA test one of our new products. Probably looking for about (3) different individuals.
The design is aimed for mid-size DRSSTC and utilizes a CM300 half-bridge IGBT. BETA testers would receive a free kit, including CM300 IGBT, to test and keep.
Our DRSSTC package includes: (1) Handheld Modulator (1) Universal DRSSTC Driver (1) CM300 IMS Board (Single 16oz copper board with onboard Electrolytics, Snubbers, and TVS protection. (1) Gate Drive Daughtercard which solders directly to the CM300 gate terminals (1) Gate Driver Ferrite Core and Cabling
Use would have to utilize their own Tesla Resonator. We do not provide the primary / secondary / MMC / or Toroid, which also allows users to exercise the circuit in different resonator configurations.
If you have any interest, please contact me via PM along with your DRSSTC experience and what type of resonator configuration you might utilize with this.
We would be giving out these items probably around the Dec-Jan timeframe.

:how much time do we have to build it? :do you want the beta done on the forum or privitly? :how tall of a secondary are we talking about probibly one that is less than 80 khz :what do you want the package to look like does it have to be pretty :I assume this will be a colaberation and maby a marketing tool
I have all the parts that you are not supplying and would be happy to help.

Thanks for all the replies. I'll be getting back to everyone who replied in the next few weeks.
Teravolt,
The package we're developing is basically a DIY'ers package for a mid-power DRSSTC using the CM300 half-bridge block.
It will basically be our entry level universal DRSSTC controller which features both BNC and FO input, shielded enclosure, OC current limit, and pulsewidth limit (mainly to prevent CW conditions), and the CM300 power section which will include: CM300 Brick (2) Snubbers 0.120", 16oz double-sided PCB board (2) 350V Electrolytics Voltage Doubler Circuit
Also, there will be a separate individual gate driver board (which features the gate resistor, diode, protection, which will solder directly to the CM300 gate terminals.
A very basic modulator will also be provided for BETA testers, although it won't be the FO version.
Beta testers will receive everything above, including enclosure and all parts, and we will select about 3 beta testers.
Also, please note this is volunteer only. We are not providing any type of monetary compensation other than you keep everything we give you.

UPDATES:
Beta testers will be informed in the next few days of their selection. The prototype Universal Driver Boards (w/ components and enclosure) should be delivered around mid-November, so its right around the corner.

Is there need of some measuring devices such as oscilloscopes, or will it just be as simple as put it together and go ?
Its not a requirement, but highly recommended. I'd like people to put these things through their paces and provide as much HONEST feedback as possible.
If it works, let me know. If it doesn't, let me know. If you think it sucks, then thats good too, so long as you provide justification etc...
The circuit is very straightforward as well. Just your basic current feedback driven DRSSTC with its share of logic gates, and a final discrete output stage for the gate driver.
The only thing really different with this circuit is the use of a discrete driver for the gate drive section. I had originally planned on using 30A IXYS Gate driver ICs, but unfortunately, IXYS sold off its one factory off and now Claire is taking over most of their original gate driver line, which also means the 30A drivers are no longer being made. So i just used a standard push-pull complimentary FET arrangement for the driver which also has some deadtime control built into it. Its not my design, but i took it from an app note in an old Mitsibishi transistor databook.
The universal boards will be here in about two weeks. I'll keep everyone posted as well contact the several people who will be receiving them.
