The websites that have been seized are pretty hard to miss. See Link2 for an example.

"Rogue Science Will Rise Again Under Construction. The estimated (re)launch date is 12-21-2010" so maby not

There was no secrecy there; the guy had more important things to do, it costs money better spent on more important things, and there was too many flaming idiots getting in trouble, so the fellow who ran it thought better than to "get shit on his shoes" & have a career-ender in his background, etc. There was nothing special about it's end. iDefense DID indeed try to stop it from disseminating bomb-making instructions; but it didn't cross the line into the Feinstein Bill, etc. The guy simply didn't want to continue it. It's expensive, time consuming, & with people writing posts about worshiping Hitler & killing the neighbor's pet, it was not a positive thing to place on a resume'.
I'd bet against that coming back.

There are 2 differing issues with the "internet ID" issue. One is that even if you think you are anonymous by using a Proxy, you're incorrect. The ability for government to REALLY find out who someone is - is incredible. But it takes money and resources, thus is used for really serious issues. So realistically we are all pretty much "non-anonymous". That's why I don't get paranoid about putting down where I live (in general). Anyone in government could find out if they really wanted to.

But the idea of a National ID "card" and it's integration into health care is a problem as it is a violation of the 4th Amendment IF it's used to determine issues such as insurance eligibility, etc. This issue has been proposed before - but I don't think it can pass Constitutional challenges.

Just another 'commodity' that will be 'traded' on the 'black market'........It won't solve anything.........They've just decided to scrap the proposed ID cards here in the UK.

More gob'ment internet mayhem is in progress...

Basically they now want the ability to listen to your skype, AIM and facebook chats etc. Link2 and they are going to punish companies that don't comply with wiretap orders.

Sing this to the tune of "ruby tuesday"

Up in Washington, they're having fun.
The peoples' will won't matter, if they won.
We have a bill of rights,
to keep us in the light,
no one cares..
They don't care!

Good-bye first amendment!
No free speech for me or you.
When you say congress is dumb.
feds are gonna rape you!

I agree with the issues you raise grenidier, when Obama is doing the same illegal stuff under the guise of the "Partriot Act", that George Bush did. Its interesting that Obama was against it, until he became presisdent, now he wants it expanded, and liberals are fine with it now.

Its not so much the R's vs. D's or the D's vs. R's as it is the powerful agaisnt the people. Both political parties are willing to piss on the constitution to get what they want (control of, possesion of, access to, censorship of ... information).

Heh, don't get me started on backhanded deals.

One such deal was tacked on the healthcare bill, and starting sometime in 2012 you need to file a 1099 tax form if you exchange more than 600 dollars per year with any online entity. Bet you didn't hear that on CBS news...
