Whoops.
I once had the misfortune of frying an expensive meter's resistance range because someone tried keying up the 'rig while it was connected. BAD idea.
Then there was the ill fated "well a meter on 10A range can be used to test bottle capacitors"experiment.. Unfortunately the impulse conducted into the circuitry was enough to fry everything but the frequency range
Don't even get me started on my electric bike fail. Still haven't managed to find a frame to fit my wheel.. (facepalm)
My SGTC. Video: In this video you can see the setup better. I'ts pretty obvious to see what's wrong. Also I have wrong sized capacitors, of which I await new ones. Also, my secondary is wound poorly. Also, it's the wrong size(30awg versus 26). Also, just look at the primary. looks like a 6 year old twisted it. It is also twice the diameter I need. also, the wire connections are bad. Also, there is nothing to mount it on. Also, my topload is not smooth. Also, my power supply is small. What happens when I activate it? Nothing on secondary side. What happens when I put a grounding stick near it? 1 inch spark at the max. I'm pretty sure I could touch that and not feel much. This one time, there were more dramatic sparks when the leyden jar had its aluminum tape too close to the other termial. Much louder sparks too.
IDK if anyone could have a failier coil. People sometmes name their coils. I call mine Mr. Failcoil. Of course, he needs a make over, and that is what I'll be doing once the caps arrive... oh wait... even if it comes next week, I'll have to be studying my ass off for my AP exam and other EOCs.... The curse of the schoolgirl... lol.
