my parents are supportive to the fact that I am learning a lot of things and etc, but they have a few issues such as space (work space takes space etc), my mom hates the look of wires, and concerns about burning the house down (especially that I'm starting to get into pyro, not that I'd make anything at the house haha) They say as long as I don't burn the house down I'm fine, but they want to move a bunch of stuff now that I'm out of the house. They say they need me to do it because they don't know what to do with it. I try to tell them that I already took care of the dangerous/breakable stuff and they can do as they please as long as it doesn't end up in the trash.
They also tried to work out an agreement with me about a space. Get organizers, etc. However, they say they'll get me a garage setup but they never have and instead make me work inside the house with organizers that are pretty much useless to me but they "look nicer" than the tool bins or parts drawers. Oh well, at least they're allowing it

If you have any space on your property, consider grabbing a cargo container off craigslist. I've seen them go for cheap/free. A 20 foot cargo container has plenty of space for a lab and workshop, and you can even insulate it, heat/cool it, wire it for electricity, and put in windows. Be as spartan or luxurious as you like. Best of all, it locks up tight, and can be moved from place to place for a nominal fee -- it's a standard container, so it can be moved via truck, rail, crane, etc. Really worth considering if you want to set up a nice lab, but don't have space in the house, and/or plan on doing a lot of moving around.
When my dad first saw me charging banks of capacitors and adding them "on the fly" to a coil (on the fly I mean that, charging caps in banks of 4, then soldering them alltogether while charged and connecting them to the coil), he said:
"Man, at this point I gotta admit you're doing things more dangerous than I ever did. And one day I blew up a flat block's main fuse with my pliers. But still that, was nowhere near as dangerous as soldering 40 caps together while charged."
