When I was younger we lived in the countryside. We had our own well in the middle of the yard. One day, I must have been six or so, there was a storm and I was looking out the window. Lightning struck the well, some 10-15 meters from the house and set the wooden cover on fire. Yea, I was hiding under the bed for a while after that...
Odd it decided to strike the well, when there were trees, a flagpole, the house and a powerline right there.

I also just remembered something. During a wicked t-storm ball lighting appeared in my house. It was loud, white, about 8" diameter. It lasted 3 seconds and extinguished with a gunshot when it hit a lamp. Lightbulb was a loss. :)
This guy had a leader stroke in front of him. Lucky for him the bolt didn't take it.
You saw ball lightning??? Can you describe it more? such as was it just a pure ball of light or was there extra detail to it such as filaments etc? and how did it appear?

It was a bright white ball with a blue center, and it had filaments when it passed by a metal/glass shelf, (which was poorly grounded), and right before it hit the lamp.

We get a awful lot of lightning in Southern AZ especially during Monsoon season. Getting one as close as the OP video is not unique. The 1st time it happens to anyone they usually utter a great deal of blasphemes & assorted scatology. Frankly no matter how many times you've seen it up close and personal; it does make for a vicious pucker factor. Actually I think it's Rwanda, Africa as the true lightning capital of the world. In the USA I believe it's Florida that has the most deaths / injuries. I've seen idiots attempt to "set up" a strike and that's really seriously stupid.
