Well domains only cost $10 a year. Register at freehostia and you won't have to go though all the transfer hassle. I can also tell you how to transfer everything from google sites to the new domain if you need me too. However does google sites use an editor like wordpress? If so you'll have to learn how to use frontpage (now called MS expression 2007, but still the same thing. There's torrents online.)
You can also just install the wordpress script, but it will look more like a blog than how your website does now.

A third option is to keep doing what you do now, and just copy everything to your new domain every time, which isn't too hard.

Just so you know, the newest versions of frontpage are called microsoft expression web. Unless you want to make a page for netscape navigator 4 [chuckles], i think you should use that.

No problem. It's a little tricky at first because tables aren't anything like word, but once you get the hang of it it's easy. Tables are important. Mine has 3. One for the Teravolt.org, one for the sidebar (which is actually a separate web page in an inline fame), and one for the content.

I like the Laser Microscope video smile If the cat only knew how few calories each moving blob represented!

In The video the cat whose head is visible at the bottom of the screen is attracted to the movement of the shadows cast by the tiny water creatures magnified by the laser and projected onto the wall. It amused me to think that the cat was getting its hunting instincts triggered by something so tiny that merely turning its head to look probably used more calories than the creature responsible contained...
