I would assume that if you were really good at welding aluminum then you could make one that was seamless.

Seamless toroids are made by making two halves and then welding them together.

I had a very large toroid made by
O.W. Landergren for use in this tesla coil
I purchased three of them with one other person to reduce the cost, and then I sold the extra one.
There toroids were done in a timely fashion. They were perfect and very well packed.
The toroids were made as two halves, welded and then smoothed.
