I guess the lesson learned here is that when rope jumping, do not put a loop in the bottom of the rope - use just knots!

Looks like he had his foot in the loop and when he tried jumping off, his leg fell through the loop instead.

Yet to have your belt caught on a rivet could save your life...

This dude was very lucky...

First of all, he's lucky that he didn't snap his neck when he hit that rock or even hit his head. Second of all... that "cracking" sound you heard, was in fact a real noise in the clip, but it wasn't his leg. It was the tree branch(but not snapping completely in half). If you go back and watch the clip again, you'll see that when he lets go of the rope, he falls, taking the rope with him on his foot. The rope goes from slack to having at least 150LBS plus the force of gravity pulling him down from the initial drop, so my guess is that it WAS in fact the tree branch. And if you listen carefully, you can hear a bit of an echo from the snap. And lastly, thats a very nice boat! lol cheesey

I'm amazed he just went "slap", almost completely naked against the rock, slipped up it, then straight off... didn't get any obvious cuts or impalings, or thwack his head. In fact, he was conscious enough to say "OK I need your help. Right now.", lol...

Ouch, all the same. VERY lucky man.
