Whoa! I'm a bit ashamed to say that my first reaction was to laugh. What gets me is the guy at the end, he so calmly says " you're legs caught in it" It cracks me up.

It sounds like his joints popping due to being stretched. I can do it without a rope with my ankle, fingers, toes, wrists, etc. I'm sure my knee and hip would do it too, if I could pull hard enough. I've actually done that before, but just because I didn't let go(there was a new submerged branch under the "dropzone").
