Question regarding close proximity of PCB board to Primary Coil (DRSSTC)

How about replace the LED's with small Xenon flash tubes from disposable cameras?
Much nicer effect I reckon.

They actually won't get excited for much just being near the primary.

They should be somewhat above the secondary base, carefully placed and current limited not to provoke arcover. (maybe put them on the strike rail or maybe they could be a connection between rail and ground (this gives them more leakage capacitance, so they glow and flash brighter if arc strikes the rail, etc..

I really think there is no need whatsoever for a CT 'in circuit'. I have had sympathetic arcs from secondary coils external to the RF field, IT was THAT strong!!!

But have fun! I can think of maybe 5 variants of my idea that would do it. I just like my original idea since it actually promotes the 'true' Tesla concept to begin with!

Altering electric field (the stuff that powers our neon bulbs, resonators etc) is very weak at the secondary base, and putting led's higher may just fry them or provoke arcover.

What I tought is to use a round bar on PCB that acts as a turn close to primary, and couples strongly to it magnetically.

Much more current, lower voltage, you can rectify it if needed etc.
