I dont believe taking these devices off market would do any good at all. There is always ways to get things like this even if you have to build it yourself. Yes, the marketing guy is either a complete idiot, or a complete genius, sales will determine that. What should happen is restrictions of sale. These should be regulated just like any other dangerous instrument. Obviously pointing a high power laser at an airplane or your buddys face should be illegal and frowned upon. I have never heard that pointing a high powered rifle at an airplane is a felony in the united states, but, i have heard that pointing a high powered laser at a plane is! Now why would that be? The devices are in the wrong hands maybe?! Minors should not be allowed to buy these things, period. It is just a matter of regulation. Whats to stop me from ripping the tube out of my 100watt co2 laser cutter and making it handheld?? Nothing at all as far as i know, well maybe common sense! I have heard rumors that the strings are no longer going to be put in hooded sweatshirts because too many kids are hanging themselves with them! WHAT? George Carlin was right when he said, "The kid that eats too many marbles doesnt grow up to have kids of his own!" That pretty much says it all. Seems like nowadays people would rather keep their kid from burning themself with a laser than running their car through a crowd of nuns while sending a text message.
