I found these shoes on the pavement, the owner has vanished in thin air. Only one sensible conclusion can be drawn from this, the owner must have been pulled upwards with such a force that the shoes were left behind. I made sure to take a clear and sharp picture so no one could claim that the evidence was fuzzy and could be "of anything".

I also saw a similar incident, unforchunatly the aliens beamed the poor soul up while he was standing below a power line.... The force too, was trumendous, and caused the laces to fuse.

Don't tweakers use the trainers-over-the-wire as a sign that they have drugs for sale?

Proud Mary mentions Spontaneous Human Combustion, thats even more bogus than alien abductions. We're made of some 70% water, a human doesent burn even if he was exposed to a blowtorch. The most likely cause of the SHC myth is something known as the "wick-effect" where the persons clothes and the bodies fat acts like a candle, slowly burning until only the legs (which contains almost no fat) are left. This could be sparked by something as simple as a cigarette. The reason why this happens so rarely is because the conditions must be absolutely perfect, or else the entire house burns down.
And BTW aliens, would you mind not ruining our crops? If you need somewhere to land your UFOs then there are plenty of parking lots around.

It would need some nifty calculation to explain how something that was False could be made more False.
Boolean Qualitative offers little help if we argue that:
Bogus AND Bogus = Bogus. (We have more of the same, but not a quantitative more)
There will always be the worry that if we say that a Bogus thing was made more Bogus, then there must have been something in the first state that was not Bogus - in a word, that it contained an element of Truth.
Who would believe that the entire science of BOGOLOGY evolved from these simple roots?

Bogology, i like it. If they started teaching that in schools then the world would become a better place
I think we would have to base our bogusity scale on the average IQ of the subjected fields believers, the average spread between conclutions made by proper scientists and proper pseudoscientists researching the field etc etc

Isn't it interesting that millions of Americans are said to believe in 'alien abduction,' while abduction into the forest by trolls and huldes - which really does happen in Norway - is often disbelieved? So perhaps the Renesis Bogusity Scale should have variables like plausibility built into it?

Yes, but that arises a new question; how do we calculate plausibility? If we base that on witness accounts then alien abduction would score a rather high plausibility factor, and ghost sightings would be off the scale.
