The increase in current is from the decrease in freq?
The control circuitry must be pretty awesome to freq shift 175KVA tongue

All I'll say is the engravings were ordered by one of our mechanical engineers tongue

And the control circuitry and switching isn't all that impressive, just lots of paralleled IGBT halfbridge modules running with a PWM freq of 5Khz. It's very loud though!

For the past century, most 175 kVA 60-Hz-to-50-Hz converters are rotating machines.
Their efficiency, clean waveforms, and robustness are hard to beat with solid state converters.
