Grounding of Tesla Coils is subject to a great deal of opinion. Therefore the need to really research for yourself what is needed. Some of this depends on the size of the coil.
Some opinion is that the only part of a small coil that damn well needs to be grounded is the parts that you may touch: the variac, switches, etc. Others state that RF grounds need to be accounted for & that any RF ground should be separated from the house as the possibility of a sharp projection could allow a spark to contact flammable or sensitive material.
On the Primary side of the coil are the most likely to contain lethal voltages/current. HOWEVER, that is NOT always the case!
There is SO much opinion & variance in coils per se' that only you can determine what type of grounding would be needed and where.
The most helpful suggestion is that you do this research for yourself; as it has just too many idiosyncrasies that only you would know.
Additionally, the question arises as to what IS a small coil? Is it a physically small coil of say 6k / 20ma? or is it a 9k @ 30ma???, etc, etc. Would it be beneficial to completely ground any coil? There are different opinions. But aside from all that; anything that you may touch always needs a ground.

This gentleman built a small coil: Link2
And with that had some unique responses (and opinions). Read and study all you can to satisfy some of the basic elemental questions and practice solid HV safety agenda: but DO IT! Nothing teaches like experience.

but i see in some video people to have the tesla coils in their house how they connect the coil to te ground rod?IS it possible to make a metalic structure as a ground and keep it safe in an insulating space?

when you say small you mean how many volts? One more stupid question is that my flyback transormer has 3 wires.First and thicker says 40kvdc the second 20kvdc and the third and thinest 1,2kvdc 1kvac.How i can know what is transformers output and with what inpute volt i can take it?Also has two switchers (screen and focus). Can i regulate the output voltage with them?(i maybe became boring but i am thurst for knowledge:P)

First off you can totally use the house ground for a flyback coil no problems there (have been there before cheesey)
BTW with is running on the houses RF ground: Link2

Your flyback should have one big (usually red) wire, thats the HV output you will have to experiment to find the HV return on the bottom of the flyback.
as for the primary I suggest winding your own on the ferrite core. If you have a pic of your flyback I may be able to help you further.

Ok so like I thought you have a DC flyback, ok so the big red wire is the one you want, the wight and orange wire you can cut off. One of the pins on the bottom is the HV return
there is really no way of knowing which one till you get the thing working. The way you will find the HV return is by seeing which pin the big red wire arcs to.

My next Question for you is do you know how to driver a flyback? If not I have a suggestion on how to drive them.

the 20k and 1.2 k are the screen and focas outputs, cut them off and seal them with hot glue. they aren't important. the 40 k is the one you want to use as the hv+ the hv - is one of the pins, experment to find out.

hope this helps,

Paul
