TNX . i'll put it in oil .(is frying oil(or what we eat)good for that?)
no Houston(Hudson) street's lab caught fire.
our standard voltage is 220 VOLTS . if i use a variac and send more than 220 (like 250 or 300 ) volts into my NST is it going to hurt it ?

this is my first safety gap .
i hope it going to works.
it's something i must ask : when i short my NST the sparks are at least2 or 3 CMs but when i use caps in series with NST the spark becomes smaller but more powerful . is it right ?
isn't here anybody to comment about ultra coil in previous page ?
and please tell me about the previous post and what happens to original tesla's coil .

I think for your safty gap, you should probably consider using electrodes with balls on the ends of them, it will be more effective as a safty gap.

main reason for my thinking is that that gap you showed in the picture has fairly pointy ends, and might have corona more then when compared to ball electrodes, and that may cause misfires in the safty gap (it shorts when its not supposed to).

Unforchantly, Ive got no clue about tesla's original coil.
