Hey, no one was offended at all I'm just looking at ways to simplify a design whilst getting the maximum functionality I can. I quite like the idea of the Predictor-style of keeping the bridge happy, so will probably incorporate some of that too, Where do the latest schematics live now - I know that Steve Ward has also had some input - is there one development path or are there several?

In that case, I am feeling a bit better today, content to write my reaction off as a by-effect of my inproficiency whith regard to the english language. My files are here, and they give the user a basic lab style driver, with adjustability of all the prameters that I could think of. There may be a pot or two too much, but I am happy with it, as long as it is not used along with a gate drive transformer. Steve Ward has done the obvious thing, and used an adjustable inductor. I couldn't find any at the time, but it is a more elegant solution than mine. His logic later on is also better than mine (which is actually Steve's old version) so all in all, the Predikter really needs a facelift. I never considered things like input impedance of the Precision rectifier, and the effect on linearity it has, but I do remember how hard it was to get both high frequency of operation, and high input impedance, so a hats off for your application note mining. It is a real gem you have found and dusted off.
