Sorry for the absence. We tried tuning it further... there was some discharge- about 1 inch in length. Im very sure that the problem is the tuning. The thing is- our primary capacitance is kinda uncertain. A multimeter didnt do much good- it didnt give a steady value. So unless we can get proper capacitors, the problem cant be solved using JavaTC. Anyways, on 23rd we had the exhibition. people loved the coil. Unfortunately, we didnt win because the judges were from a "mechanical" background so they didnt get what we were telling them lol.

So is this the end of your Tesla coil experimenting, or do you intend to continue troubleshooting and tuning to get the coil running properly?
If you intend to continue, the first thing to look at is why you weren't able obtain a "stable" measurement of your salt water capacitor bank. When a digital multimeter is set on a capacitance function, and is either on the wrong range or is reading an open circuit, it will frequently display constantly changing, random values.
Did you ever replace what appeared to be fine gage enameled magnet wire that was the connection to the electrolyte in your salt water capacitors?
