I have a couple of fairly big Thyristor's / SCR’s and diodes looking for a new home. They came from the power supplies for the bending magnets of the electron-synchrotron ELSA located at the Bonn University’s department of physics (at least that’s what I was told).
Most are in used condition, but they all seem to work. However, I only tested them at low voltages / currents. Some appear to be never used old stock.
I tried searching some of the part numbers, but I wasn’t very successful. Most seem to fit in the 200-300A range, and maybe 400-1000V. At least that’s what the part numbers and the diameters of the attached wires implicate. Types:

SCR’s:
CS300-08io34, Brown-Boveri, 12 pieces => all taken!
CS300-04go2, Brown-Boveri, 2 pieces => 1 left!
CS220-08go22, Brown-Boveri, 4 pieces => all taken!
CS195-1000gx24, Brown-Boveri, 2 pieces => all taken!
T221N400E0C 52-20S8, AEG, 4 pieces => all taken!

Diodes:
DS250-14MA, Brown-Boveri, 10 pieces => 1 left!
GE A197RP, unknown, 6 pieces (found “fast recovery” somewhere?!?) => all taken!

Most have a label saying “made in W. Germany”, so they must be at least 20 years old. Expect for the GE A197RP they all weight 500-700 grams each.

Because they where for free (speaking of money, bringing them home cost me some sweat!) I am willing to give them away for the postage, a small donation to 4HV and, most important, the promise to use them in a project later presented here.
However, I will not ship them all to one person, just to give everyone a chance. And maybe I’ll keep one or two as a paperweight wink.

Edit2: Some of the links are dead, but I can send you the datasheets via e-mail if you like.

I'm interested in getting an SCR, even if postage in more than AUS $25, high postage costs are a fact of life for me frown

The cheapest world-wide mailing service I found so far costs 12,00€ for up to 1kg or 13,90€ for up to 2kg. Within Europe it’s 6,00€ for 1kg, 8,60€ for 2kg or 17,00€ for up to 5kg.
The donation was mend to be something symbolic, not necessarily exceeding the postage.

If you’re interested just send me a PM stating the parts you would like, a proposal on what to donate and your post address. I will confirm the postage cost, and, if your proposal is reasonable, send you my bank data. You may then donate to 4HV (please send Chris Russell a PM or include a note with the donation to let him know about this deal, he will then confirm the receipt of payment). Then transfer the postage cost to my bank account (and let me know you did so), and I will ship the items.

By the way, I found (minimalist) data sheets for nearly all the parts. Just have a look at my first post.

Yes, have a look at the first post. Only the T221N's and some of the DS250's are gone.

Postage cost: see 2nd post. If you send me your address I will check it again.

Donation: ask yourself how much they are whorth to you, I will except almost any value.
(However, if you propose 0,1€ per pice I might wait for someone else to ask...)

Hey

Does anybody still else want these?
I'm going to be getting a heap of these since nobody else seems to be interested and Timo is going throw them out.

So you want some too we'll make arrangement to share the parts

Thanks
-Ken
