I decided to start this thread to find out a little more about where people live. So I'll ask,
What bizarre weather have you experienced where you live?
I'll kick things off with a little weather in Texas: it is half way through march, and here in Texas we just got a few inches of beautiful snow along with the cold weather... it was in the seventies just a couple weeks ago!
Also, past few months have seen the most snow in a long time, over the course of a couple days we got 12 inches of the powder, along with a lot of chaos that ensued such as black ice, pole pigs exploding, and so on.

This area (south shore of Lake Erie) is famous for bizarre winter weather.
Thundersnow is pretty common as convective lake-effect snow forms over the warm lake waters late in the fall. These events frequently bring 24" of snow or better in 12 hours. This year we also had 3 separate 36" snow accumulations. We're actually slightly behind in total snowfall for the year though (average is ~120" here, >220" 15 miles north)
Wild swings in temperature are also pretty common. In December we had a 61F day with a tornadic thunderstorm and violent squall line passing through about 1pm, followed by a 25F drop in temperature in about 3 hours, with sleet & lightning by 3pm and snow and 27F by 8pm.

I live on Johns Island outside of Charleston South Carolina. We have a humid subtropical climate, with mild winters, hot, humid summers, and significant rainfall all year long. Snow flurries seldom occur, although this year 3.4 inches (8.6 cm) fell on the evening of February 12, the heaviest in 20 years.

nice of you to ask
I live in Alberta, Canada, this winter was the wierdest one, it not only had -30C (-22F) peaks midway and one time -40C(-40F) at the local airport, but as spring is now ariving, one day its 20-30C (68F-86F) with nice sunlight, the very next day, you have freezing rain, and more snow, It stayed like that all week. so the weather here kinda alternated back and forth from cold and hot. usually when the sun is shining its very hot, but it can always get cold the next day, regardless of the sun. generally not too bad, but its a nuisance when its warm, and you plan to go somewhere the next day without checking the weather channel, and you find out there is a bunch of snow outside. and due to this style of weather, you really need to worry about black ice, since it melts during the day, and solidifies at night.

One of the weirdest weather phenomenas i have encountered is frosen rain, which is very rare here in Norway. There was also a massive flood here five years ago when unusually much rain fell while the winter snow was melting. It washed away a large bridge spanning a river and dumped it in the fjord...
I have also seen what i believe to be a ball lightning, although i cannot confirm this.

Here in southeast Texas, about 3 days ago it was moderately warm. Today it was pretty dang cold outside... We are constantly switching from A/C to heat. The winter was rather warm quite a bit throughout the winter, and the summer is over 100 degrees, with an occasional 110 degree or whatever day.
If you do not like the weather in Texas, wait a day!

Arcstarter, you hear the same line around here, but it's "If you don't like the weather in Meadville, wait 10 minutes".
The other favorite is the story of how Meadville came to be. In 1787, David Mead and his crew of trappers and pioneers came up the Alleghany River, then to French Creek on their way to Lake Erie. It was October, and the weather was turning. They decided to make camp at the confluence of French Creek (really a small river) and Cussewago Creek "Until the weather breaks". 225 years later, they're still waiting for the weather to break.

In January we had a week of 60 deg F days that ended with a blizzard giving us a foot and a half and a snow day. The next month it never got about freezing. I live in southern Colorado in the mountains so It happens a lot.
