EEYORE - I can help with this. Let me know if your senior project is a go and we can go from there!
Arkin - Sorry, nothing in the motor department.
Hello, I believe it will be a go, but I see you will have a pro version coming out? What would you reccomend? Also, instead of using a power transformer, could I use a variac to ramp up the power? Matt
I have some development class-e audio coil boards i can send you at no charge. I'll give more details in the email you sent me later today. The only catch with these is that the drive circuit will need to be changed / updated as its not very reliable. Basically, you can replace the entire discrete complimentary stages / transformer with a single IXYS gate driver IC. Or you could even design your own driver - a good design project if this is for a school project.
The Class-E Pro is actually a product we are working on right now under contract with a commercial buyer. Its not going to be priced for the amateur market, although we may offer it for a reduced price in a kit form, but that is yet to be determined. But this won't be available for purchase to the general public until 2011 sometime.
The only way you can use a variac is if you use it with an ISOLATION transformer. A variac is non-isolated, and if you use one for this particular design, you will basically short out the power bridge rectifier (as the board is GND referenced for safety) and blow everything up.

I need ferrites, ferrites, ferrites and diodes, diodes, diodes!
I am a college student at CSU Chico (see left) if you want my ID # I will give that to you securely elsewhere, not here. I am building a high voltage SMPS 100kV PS at 100kHz and at 3kVA ! I need ferrite cores good too about 100kHz like Fairite N77 or Ferrox Cube 3c92 in small U shapes or toroids, is that something you have? Size should be like a onboard choke type, 1 or so inches long , by 0.5 inch wide , by 0.25 to .4 inches thick. Or those approximate dimmensions. If not, do you have other magnetic components of any kind or shape? Sendust and Powdered metal may be useful elsewhere too. but i rather have ferrite.
I dont mean to be a pig, but do you have SF1600 to SF1200 type diodes 1.6-1.2 kV, I need alot (like 800) to series up, or can you suggest a replacment diode up to 10kv 20ma, for 100kHz ( I can series them up to get my final voltage of 50 kv.), Mouser and Digikey dont offer them in less then 5,500 quantities. Or do you know of better avalanche diodes for HV rectification?
Voltage Multipliers inc. offered me there 10kv 20ma 30ns avalanche diodes diodes, for 1.61$ each @ 85 Qty, instead of at 3.60$ because im a student, but i might not be able to get those either as campus and personal money is tight at the moment.

Can I ask only for parts that are in stock on the Eastern Voltage Research or I can ask for any parts in case you may have them?
In this point in time I am researching all the aspects of what I want to build. Thank you for offering.
You can ask for anything you want although keep in mind i don't have any ultra-specialized stuff or any motors either. Basically, just general electronic / hv parts.

Dear EVR
I have a very promissing demonstration/ innovation that shows how very high AC at KHz range can be transfered through one wire (no return path).
I am looking for some diodes to make a bridge rectifier out of so I can rectify the voltage at the other end of the transition line. It has to be a diode that can hold at 30Khz. It is desirable that the diode would be able to hold 4KV but not necessery, since those diodes DO NOT connect phase and ground.
I know it is weird.
I am considering a construction of a PIC programmer. New to this stuff. - site has bugs
I will need parts from the list:
C1 22uF min. 16 V radial C2 100uF min 16 V radial D1 5V1 Z-Diode D2 8V2 Z-Diode D3 1N4148 D4 1N4148 D5 1N4148 D6 1N4148

it just for USA student ? I am student in Vilnius University Faculty of physics I am making large DRSSTC so far i could make around 2m spark from single phase, and i need more voltage. So i am making large Voltage-Current mode SMPS with PFC and i need some IGBT (ISOTOP mosfets are too weak) (four for full-bridge best would be ISOTOP package ) HGT1N40N60A4D or IXGN60N60C2D1 i know that is exception but if you can get that would be wonderful Thank you project is here:
