ezis, i have seen schematics when this is fed from rectified mains, what would be the top voltage to use with these zeners, or is there a way to use other type of regulation on the gates, mabe a separate psu ?
thanks

Hello,
Hey, today i fried 2 more mosfets,
this time i purchased an osciloscope to monitor the gate signal and a freq meter to see check the output freq,
i noticed that signal peaks at about 25v so guess this is bad,
however it worked quite nice at around 30khz, trying to increase frequency i changed the capacitor to a lower value and while frequency went up to 39khz, i noticed some oscilations at the gate when voltage almost come to zero, changed capacitors again, and this time the gate drop ocilations where much larger in time and amplitude, and circuit inmediately died before i could measure freq.

any toughts

Thanks

Yes, IRFP450, but they dont get hot,
zener unregulated V=45V and gate input (after zener) 25v Peak
i just got two NTE2943 Rdson 0.077ohm but mag DtS 100v

Most mosfets have 20V MAX s-g voltage. Try 12V zeners&470ohm resistors.
NTE2943 is only 17A.
I need see your schematic

Ed, just use your working ZVS driver. Wind the 10 center tapped turns on one side of a large (if possible) LOPT core, and on the other side try different secondaries. Use around 12 gauge. Try 5 first, then just experiment. Mess with the work coil, try 3-10 or whatever.
