Ever have someone try to tell you a story about someone when in fact you were the person who originally told that person the story in the first place???

I was always careful not to publish contact details online, but he called every "Conner" in the local phone book until he got through to one of my relatives who was obviously un-el1te enough to give away my number.

Shades of Terminator...

Since this thread is opening to general stupidity, when I worked at Jaycar some guy returned a 12:240V invertor and a 240:12V battery charger. He claimed they were faulty because when he plugged them into each other they didn't make free energy. cry

Luckily I didn't have to deal with him. He got passed around until he was directed to the technician, who just said, "No."

"LOL! Yeah, I've got a few of those folks where I work... Makes you wonder how they get to work in the morning. "
You assume they managed to leave work...

Yes happens to me at work all the time. There is a guy who takes all my design ideas and talks about them for hours when he hasent got a clue about how it works why I did it like that or my choice in that principle.

I am working with a classmate to make a coilgun for project work. We are only still in search of a system which can change gear very rapidly.

Hmm, well I would probably go with a manual box with a nice positive action, or if your budget allows it you could always look at going tiptronic.

I went to a maching machine repair shop looking for a drive belt to make my coil winder.
The guy wanted to know what sort of machine it was, I told him it was for a project, asked what I
was building, so told him. He got very excited and told me how a big coil can put the power out
in the neighbourhood and thought it was really cool that I was building one.
I tried at first to repair his warped view on Tesla and coils, but ended up just smiling
and nodding. I got the belt for free.
I know it's not a funny email, but a weird encounter all the same. Not as scary as Steves freakazoid stalker.

I remember the guy at radioshack asking how I was going to aim my tesla coil. I didn't know that then, but he was thinking about the tesla gun in RTCW (or some other game maybe), so I was a little confused as to what the hell he was thinking.

When we come to this, one of my proffesors, EE, was assuring me that tesla coils (including my little class E SSTC) generate deadly radiation. I won't go for details ill
