Well I think you can be sure that from the looks of those non intelligent emails, whoever of them tries to make it will most likely kill themself in the process before anyone else...

I got a series of emails once from someone wanting to build a coilgun.

They were asking things like 'why doesn't my capacitor bank work? I charged it with 12v battery, but the voltage across it still reads 12v, what's it for anyway?'

After about 8 more emails, it turns out they were trying to build a railgun.

It really made me wonder what some people try after reading our sites - I guess the least you can do is add some safety information, and a disclaimer.

I don't get dumb e-mails as a rule. However, I once got stalked by a Tesla nut living in my home town, which scared me enough to put down the whole of my site for a few months. When I finally put it back up, it carried a "No Black Helicopters" disclaimer for years.

He seemed to think that the CIA (or other unspecified men in black I guess) were remote viewing him, and that I could build him a pair of Tesla coils with a suitable frequency to jam the brainwaves.

He explained all of this in a call from a public call box to my parents' house (where I was living at the time) and later came round to visit a few times. I pretended not to be in and had ghastly visions of this guy trying to kidnap me as his coil building slave :-o

I was always careful not to publish contact details online, but he called every "Conner" in the local phone book until he got through to one of my relatives who was obviously un-el1te enough to give away my number.

If anything like that ever happened again, I think I would quit Tesla coiling. It seems to attract a lot of the wrong crowd :P

*nodds while putting a loaded gun in a child's hands* Okay Jr. go be responsible for yourself.

Do what you like with your website, but remember that giving stupid people deadly information is like putting a loaded weapon in their hands!

One must exercise the responsibility to self AND to others. This is called Ethics.

In the long run this is good for the human race, so long as the idot is the one removed from the gene pool.

Andrew, I wonder why they want to knock someone out for exaclty one hour? Scary, that guy needs to drink a few gallons of chloroform. dead

My preferred flavor of ethics means supplying them with the information they need to recognize and mitigate the dangers. Being ethical does not make it my job to protect everyone from themselves.

We digress. More funny emails!!!
