If you've visited my site in the last few days, you've noticed that I "removed" the chloroform pages (actually theyre still there, but not linked on my page). Part of this was because of the job search, part because of all the hackaday traffic, and part because of the tremendous volume of retarded and frightening emails.

I figured others with website must get some funny email, so lets have a laugh at other's expense. Here are some good, or just scary, chloroform emails. I swear to god these are all genuine, and are but a taste:

What would happen if someone handed me a vile of liquid, maybe (chloroform) and I held it under my nose and sniffed it quickly and then handed it back to them, would I then pass out immediately, would it take a few minutes, would whoever did this to me have some kind of substance there for me to smell to wake me up.

Is it okay to smell it?

After the combination. The reason I am asking because I have small amount of tolerance and during my minor surgery, My Dr. don¡¦t want to give me any sleep-aid or chloroform. He is saying that, it is not harmful to you, but it is not necessary as well. Would you please response me, I am a single female and what would happen, if I take chloroform.

Hey its me jonny i for got to ask, how do u change the powder to a liquid because i think exsposing it to water makes a poisin gas. or do i want it to be a poison gas to be able to knock thing out?

could chloroform be "disguised" in ice ?

HOW CAN I USE THIS CHLOROFORM MIXTURE TO KNOCK OUT PEOPLE

how much of chloroform do you need to knock out a human for 1 hour

Any others?

I (very surprisingly) have received no stupid email regarding my site despite it getting millions of hits (HAD, many forums, Digg, del.icio.us, etc.) - in fact, most of the email is really intelligent, and there have been a few very good suggestions (most popular page by far is fusor.us/lockpick.html)

I do get some pretty good spam though. Sadly, the people who send it rarely have a valid return address. I once asked someone about their "We have medicine to cure any dessease" e-mail. They didn't reply - I asked for a cure to a list of incurable diseases.

This is why I wrote to you a long while back and, of course, you blew me off.

I'm a big Chemistry fan, and I work alongside a Chemical Engineer, but providing information that is dangerous in the hands of stupid people is irresponsible.

I'm somewhat surprised that you haven't been sent a warning or something from some kid's parents.

This is exaclty why I won't publish information on Thermite on my homepage, or uses of Rocket engines, or Magnesium compositions. Doing that, well, I might as well just give all my money away for the next 50 years to some stupid kid or his parents.

lol hazmatt =)

Andrew I think it's probably advisable you (temporarily) removed the chloroform page. Have you had any success with about.com plagiarism bastardry as yet?

I certainly think it's advisable not to have the chloroform there if people of questionable legal nature ;) ;) were involved.

Always looking forward to your new projects, keep it up!

If you're worried about it, you might want to request a removal from google. They have the link, and they have it cached. wink

In my mid-teens I got an email from someone who

a. Thought I was a respected professor
b. Thought respected professors teach random people over email how to write bootsector viruses.

And no, I didn't go around saying, "d00d im t3h b00tsektor pr0phexxor". I don't know why I got that email.

That is just, um, creepy.

Hazmatt, others: I removed the page links for personal reasons alone (jobs, annoyances). People are responsible for their own actions, information is free, and i don't feel any remorse, even if someone did something stupid. Hell, the only reason I don't put a Mohammed cartoon on there too is cuz it doesn't fit with my site.

Part: I left the pages in place exactly so that google and wikipedia could still access it.
