the reason for using Alcohol is that they are easy to control: they don't burn as hot as something like gasoline usually, they light easily, and mainly are not as strong as other solvents - for example, there is concern with the Pipe Thread Seal tape - it might take acetone, but I'm not sure also, acetone I think burns like alcohol does normally (with the exception of isopropanol and a few others) by burning with low color visibility, I could be wrong though but I still have bottles worth of alcohol to put to use since the cannon does not need that much, contrary to thought
