I say shot-key and zee-ner.
I guess I would call "Brillouin" brie-yon but I'm not sure.

I've been pronouncing zener wrong at work, luckily I wasn't the only one! Time to start saying zeener, and getting even more strange looks.

How about capacitor, 'capper-sighta' is correct?

Hysteresis or Highster Ecis?:-)
My brother, in College, says it is hissed-er-ee-sis. I was close, i always thought of it as his-tear-ee-sis. Basically the same, just less emphasis on the 'air' sound... :P

I always thought it was schot-key. Then again, when i try to say that it sounds weird :P. Damn Texan incoherent speach.

I've always said zen-er, though I've never heard an english speaking person pronounce it before. Learned electronics online, so my pronunciation is based on my first impression when reading the word. Not sure I'll get used to zee-ner.

Haha, that one made laugh. No offense though, I bet it sounds a lot better with a British accent. cheesey I pronounce it like gatedbreakdown, as in a 'capacit'y-s'tor'age.

I learned how to say that from back to the future,
THE FLUX CAPACITOR!!!, 1.21 JIGAWATTS!
best moment of the whole film.

as for hysteresis I say it like hiss - ter - asis (like assist but no T)

I know a guy who says capacitor as cap - piss - tor (he doesnt say the "sit" part.)

I see what you did there. You made this thread so that you could let off a little steam by typing and entering curse words! I am on to you...
