Hi all.

Have you got any good technical/HV etc one liners you'd like to share?

e.g.

The computer revolution is over. They won.

Its a one-worder...

As an old "DECcie" we always (like a lot of other people) used to say FUBAR, Well, we all know where that came from, but not many will know that on the DEC PDP 11/x unibus machines, there was a FUBAR register - Failed UniBus Address Register - yes, really.... a (weak) insider joke by DEC Central Engineering wink

To which I'd add: The only thing more dangerous than a programmer with a soldering iron, is a salesman with a soldering iron.

One of my favorites is "Your link is not working, Scopemang". cheesey

"Reality bites with a variety of sizes of teeth." This one is good for when your NST blows up and asplodes your stash of 50 833C's.

"I don't need anger management, i need for people to stop pissing me off!"

"You laugh at me because i am different. I laugh at you because you are all the same". I use that against people. It works as good as a Twix does, right after you tell your girlfriend that her jeans do make her butt look nice and big.

And, one that i often find myself saying to people on the IRC cheesey

"Do you type by throwing chopsticks at a keyboard that is spinning or something?"

This is one I read in a motor control handbook with regard to start up:

"Remember, the transistor will allways blow first to protect the fuse"

There are three kinds of men. The one that learns by reading. The few who learn by observation. The rest of them have to pee on the electric fence for themselves.

Not a one-liner:

Two atoms walk into a bar. The first one says to the second "I lost an electron!" The second says "Are you sure?" The first one replies "I'm positive!"

Space isn't remote at all - it's only an hour's drive if your car could go strait up!

fire is bad for those who burn themselves, but for the rest us it is a very great pleasure

if safety's first, what's second?

don't talk to strangers, unless you ever want to meet -anyone- ever

there are no problems that cannot be solved with a suitable application of high explosives
