we need to decide if some of the box contents should be added to the new 4HV junk box, sending the whole thing would be too expensive.
as the box is now *much* too large and full, perhaps split it into two smaller boxes and send one to Dalus (including the parts he needs) and the other to Chris to add?
to reduce individual costs, perhaps we can arrange some sort of system where each party pays half of the postal costs?
just a thought. -A

My idea was to make all the boxes like the USA one. This allows for lower postage fees and a better protected box. So I think it's best that this box finds a place in the UK to stay. We might consider swapping boxes from all the different hosts once in a while. But only if the funds permit.

im interested in possibly setting up my own from one location and people just pay to get the item they want from the box and send out one of there own items?

I've been thinking about this too.
Maybe we could get something going in the UK that doesn't rely on the Post Office?
For example, I regularly drive from the West Country to Humberside and the South East (When my truck is running, anyway).
I'm sure other UK 4HV members travel about a bit too.
If the location of the junkbox is known, anyone driving past could collect it, help themselves to what they want/put in what they don't want, and drop it off at another location.
As long as it doesn't get 'stranded' in Inverness or Newquay for months on end it should keep travelling about.
We may even be able to do the occasional exchange with mainland Europe if there is sufficient interest.
Others not on the UK mainland, or at the extremities, could still participate by post as suggested by Tom in the previous post (or by yacht, helicopter, private jet, etc )
