I believe rp181s statement is correct. From what I was told by Stella, she has kilos upon kilos of lead shielding and has been the driving force behind x-ray safety for as long as I have been here(dosimeters etc.), she has quite some x-ray experience from what I gather. I am sure that, the picture she posted was a warning.
BTW: Whatever you do, don't be this guy: :O :O :O (I only hope he was not in the room what the x-ray was blasting)

So for normal xray tubes (medical, dental) they are using xrays from ionized inner shells in order to take pictures? This characteristic radiation should be isotropic whereas the bremsstrahlung would be peaked at some angle depending upon the gamma of the incoming electron beam. The only kind of xray systems that I am familiar with are much higher voltage flash xray sources which use bremsstrahlung as the xray source.
