This may not be the solution you intended, but how about binding the book? Add two or three blank pages at the beginning and end, align the pages, clamp them between something, and go over the spine with a dremel sanding wheel to increase surface area. Run a generous bead of hot glue along the roughened edge, and let it cool.
Cut a strip of paper slightly wider than the glued edge, then hold it against the glued edge and run the thick part of your soldering iron up and down the spine until the glue is remelted and worked into the roughened paper. Don't stay in the same place too long, or ther will be scorch marks. Voila! Paperback book.
