Can't do any better with insects, I was already at the near limit of my lens. Why are 1:1 macros so darn expensive??

A common green-- wait no brown, uh green anole. Aw, crap, he's brown again... We used to call them "chameleons" in grade school.

And some baby birds from the front porch.

Here's a deer, I'm in the North Gerogia mountains, a couple of years ago deer would come up behind our house almost every day, now they don't show up nearly as often. We have a couple extra dogs, maybe they're scaring them off. This was about a year ago. The deer came in the back yard, and laid down for about a half hour, plenty of time to get the camera (cheap Medion digital model, often frustrating but usable), and then I had the idea of seeing if I could take a pic by holding the lens up to my astronomical binoculars, 11x80, so I set it up and did it. This is also through the screen of a screened in porch.

Yay for deer! I found this one in a surprising place: the cemetery behind Glasgow Cathedral. It's smack in the middle of a major city and surrounded by busy roads, offices, and factories.

Anybody know what type of spider these are? I found the top one when cleaning out a house, and the bottom in a backyard in New Orleans on a mission trip with our church. The pictures are quite fuzzy, but ideas on what kind they are or may be are appreciated!

Well I ordered some camo clothing including gloves, hat, facemask etc. all in realtree, so I hope I will be getting close to some bigger animals soon.

It took a while to extricate this gecko from a metal box I needed.
Second photo is a 1:1 macro with Sigma 180 lens and Nikon D70s.

Haha! So no one noticed Wumpuses reflective Eye cat photo suspicious? especially the feathers around the mouth and the looks of a freshly caught bird underneath it? Seems you caught the cat in a midafternoon snack. :)
