Many smaller coils can run at higher oscillation frequencies than one large one, so it is possible that the soundquality is audibly better. But if your ultimate goal is sound quality, then amplitude modulation is your best bet. And as far as i know, that is impossible with dual resonant sstc's.
The problem with TC music is the lower tones. They require a lot more power per decibel, so in a organ setup of 10 coils, perhaps it would be beneficial to have 5 coils or so playing together to make out the base frequencies? If MIDI is too advanced, then the sound input could be split up by band-pass filters to make out separate signals for the base, mid and treble ranges.

I was thinking further along these lines.
If the output of the Tesla Coil is at frequency F, then the audio static, is withen a certain range around F, say + or - N.
So, to reduce the static, it has been sugested (by Uzzors and Renesis) to increase the frequency the coil runs at, and so less of "N" is in the audio range.
However, it seems to me, that if "N" was smaller, that would also lower the audio static.
How could I Lower "N" make the coil give off less static noise? (Besides increasing the running frequency)
Maby less power? use a smaller coil?
But lower tones (Base) requiers more power over better quality.
SO! what if, over the ten coils, the Base is larger, so worse sound quality, but more power available. As the tone goes higher, the coils have less power (smaller coils?) and so have better quality, at the sacrifice of volume?
