I'm very glad you understand the comedy of our Gender Diversity, Mr Black.
Karla and I are a quiet lesbian couple. Karla is a police inspector, and I am a technical writer for Evox Rifa. Brighton is the 'gay capital' of the UK - a bit like San Francisco - so there is little pressure on us. Besides, Karla has 18 years service, and knows how to deal in a few seconds with hate criminals!

Briefly, this does intrigue me. If someone assaulted my partner unprovoked, I feel it's an unfathomable attack whether or not 'hate' applies, and justice should apply equally (harshly) to either case. I'd be pretty stricken if our antagonist received a reduced or suspended sentence relative to a 'hate' classification in otherwise identical circumstances.
