Is that oxy-acetylene, Haz? You wouldn't believe the replacement cost of both bottles on a cart from British Oxygen here in England, as Renesis has said of Norway in his post first following yours. But a zillion times better than some crappy underpowered arc.

Is that a number 2 tip hazmatt?

I definitely love a good set of snap ring pliers.

That's quite an achievement, Dr H!

Sometimes, looking at the same weary old Tesla and flyback circuits repeated over and over in this forum, it's easy to overlook the enormous industry, ingenuity, craft and skill that we have here amongst us.

Well done for a good piece of work!

I just posted it as a joke.

I dunno what the number is, its a multifuel tip for the cutting head.

I don't use acetylene, can't afford bottles either. I had a 80cu ft. bottle of propylene donated by a coworker. And I can switch between that or propane.

If you need a bottle its best to get one from a swapmeet, that's the most affordable way around the situation. I can't afford the $300 for a 150cu Ft bottle of oxygen either, but for half price at the swapmeet, you bet!

The other thing is Harry, that you should be able to rent a bottle or setup from your local welding supply. It is not that uncommon to rent bottles and call for pickup and delivery of a fresh bottle, for a fee of course, but that's still cheaper then owning your own gear.

When I get my oxy filled they don't even bother to give me my bottle back, they just do an exchange, so it shows how things have changed.

I think rental is good, Haz, but you've gotto have your work planned and schedules so you don't have the welder standing around idle for long periods during the rental, and I'm a terrible ditherer unless I have a fully maked out plan.
