Steve's new coil is excellent :) As far as I know, it's a DRSSTC designed for long bursts, operating at 500kHz, with "agile" DC bus voltage controlled by a Class-D amp. He can vary the bus voltage as the burst progresses, for optimal growth of those long sword sparks.

All it needs is more plexi and LEDs...

And it would be interesting to know aproximately secondary top volts needed for those long sword sparks...
My rough guess is range 150-200 kV or thereabout.

Totally awesome!!! That has got to be the best spark vs secondary length I've seen for any coil.
