Good day guys

after more than one year of part gathering, it was time to start this coil. It will be CM600 driven, around 15 000uF on the bridge and around 720nF tank capacitors. It is being design in the building process soo no more details for now. Here some pics of the "part bin" tongue A lot of parts are missing from the pics though.
P.S. the tires are not part of the coil hee hee.

Special thanks goes to Dr. Spark, Dr. Hankenstein and my father.

Cheers :)

Hee hee - thanks smile

So - few pictures of on the progress (I've started before I posted the thread).
We need power ... lots of it ... soooo I've "paralleled" two 25A variacs. Been working on this thing more than 30 hours to make it look as I want it to smile EVERY part is modified/sanded/polished/painted ..... I've also changed the "slaves" with bearings - now the shaft moves much better and the awful wobbliness in the shaft is gone
The pictures shows everything.
I hope you like it. Cheers

Good day guys

after more than a week of work on the project here is the progress on the variac :

all of the plexy parts are completed, holes for the air drilled and 90% of the stuff mounted on them. The most exciting part remains - taking of the protective cover from the plexy ... but I will do it at the end.

Also yesterday I've received the frame form the powder coating.

Tomorrow I begin final assembly.

Cheers smile

one slight comment, those gray ceramic caps are better suited for a VTTC if you plan to use them for your MMC cap. do you plan to get any poly snubber caps for your primary tank circuit

Good day sir

aaaa ... what gray ceramic caps ???

If you are speaking about the "gray parts", next to the diodes, in the beggining of the thread - those are 100A line filters, not capacitors.

Cheers smile
