I agree it might help to separate the laser discussions from the radio discussion from the ionizing radiation discussions, but it seems like there are already so few posts in the section devoted to them splitting it up further would make them even quieter. As it stands I just see the wide variety of projects in that section as a tribute to how freaking huge the EM spectrum is!

I'd have to agree with that. Although it would be cool to have a place devoted only to ionizing radiation, there just arn't enough posts to really merit it. Splitting up a very active forum like General Science or High Voltage first would probably make more sense overall.
I don't really think making an ionizing radiation board is a bad idea, I just don't see how it will really help anything.
And what if you have a project emitting a lot of violet light? Does it go in ionzing or non-ionizing?
