It certainly is spectacular, and for just a "normal" setup its the best you have done so far, else I would say these two are close competitors because it looks so damn cool at the gravity discovery center dome: Link2 Link2

Its a very impressive photo, although not your best IMHO.

The only issue here I have is that a sense of scale is not easily discernible. If you were standing next to it, that would definitely help.

But nonetheless, a very cool photo!

Unfortunately I was on my own that night so I chose not be in the photo and run it as a flash double exposure. In fact I could have with the remote camera shutter. Like a lot of Tesla shots, without a person in it for scale, it loses a reference of size. Even Tesla appreciated this with his famous double exposure film.
I was expecting to do a run again tonight to take a better shot for this thread but got caught up with brain in neutral in front of the TV. Sorry, promise I wont do it again.
Also some white balance issues. Lit by incandescent light but sparks are high colour temp (flash setting is closest).
I have had vague thoughts of a Prestige like shot with the whole coil upside down and walking through a field of 7ft sparks.

The Cosmology dome photos were good and the sparks intense but the 11 foot arm had too much droop at it's full range and I didn't have the equipment to fix it so the sparks were only 3-4 feet. It was great having the vantage point of the staircase.

Here is a shot with just the sparks from one fixed point. It's a bit scary as you don't really have a feel for how far they are coming out toward you. You know you are 15 feet away, but .....

Your photo of the halo surrounding your car has always amazed people I've shown it to.

You know, my favorite part of this pic is actually the moon in the eucalyptus tree in the background... I'm not sure why, it just lends a nice natural contrast to the carnival of current below.

TDU is the first person to fully develop the idea of the electric discharge as art. I think he should have an exhibition in a gallery.
