Prickly with a slight after-tingle. I took about 20 shots.
Corona is tickly with a hint of apprehension.
Basically your tongue is wet which helps diffuse the sparks point of contact a bit.

This pic is animated if you click on it and don't mind feeling a little nauseated.

Hehe, looks cool :D. I have actually done this with a solid state type and a tiny spark gap Tesla coil.

Tastes like dead taste buds :D. Perhaps put a bit of salt on your tongue and make the sparks red, in which case would look cool :D.

Yeah, I have wondered about sending that pic off to a porn site. LOL
I have been on them before, mostly Spanish ones for some reason.
Also a significant number of my hits are for my copy of my two Maxim magazine articles.
Google "Maxim" images and see. Mine are currently number 3 and 30.

The great thing about this little coil is that it is relatively safe and portable.

Does extended arcing to the tongue alter your sense of taste? Just wondering.

It's not actually burnt to a crisp. Taste is widely spread on the tongue anyway.
I have no abnormal sensation today at all.
As I said a slight sensation for half an hour or so - just liek eating too any salt and vinegar crisps.
This is not something crazy like having your tongue pierced.
