I thought it would be interesting to see the sort of places where we all lived, in our many different parts of the world. .

So here is Portslade Village, where Brighton ends up in the countryside. I stroll past the places in the pictures every single day on my way to the village shop or the post office.

We have one small shop, a post office, a barber's, two pubs and a fish-and-chip shop. If I want anything more I must go into Brighton, about eight miles away. It is quiet here.

Thank you for sharing those. I have spent many happy times in Norway, and it is always a joy to think of its beautiful mountains and fjords. Does your family have a hytte? - my idea of heaven! smile

The Northern Lights! Once seen never fogotten! I have laid on my back in a sleeping bag at Varangerfjord, in late September, as the evening comes on, and watched the nordlys for hours and hours!

Where are you, Bjørn? Somewhere like Alta or Finnmark?

Colorado is very much like the norway pictures, but less green. Bjorn's 3rd picture is very accurate to colorado.

I wish I could see the northern lights. Looks great.

The third picture is taken out my window using a telephoto lens across the fjord. I live in Narvik so you were not a million miles off the mark.

Here is the hytte:

What a beautiful place for a hytte, Bjørn! And what a wonderful view it has!

Is that part of Otofjorden we can see in the picture?
